Tribal living remained unchanged for many thousands of years, but outside influences have recently been rapidly and irrevocably changing this. Global warming has affected the ability of many tribes to feed their livestock.  Western influences, with the building of roads to formerly inaccessible villages, means that time is running out to document fast-disappearing tribal customs and styles of dress.

A wildlife safari a few years ago which incorporated a side trip to several tribal villages, was the initial spark that kindled my fascination in different cultures. For the past five years, I’ve concentrated on documenting portraits and rituals of tribal groups around the world.
